The game treatment of Terrarium is as follows:
This is a build your own terrarium game, starting with your own garden. The garden consists of a range of different biomes, each with a number of related plant-life for each zone to unlock. The player will start off with a few different seeds to plant as well as some fully grown plants to get started.
From the garden the player will move to a garden shed where they can start building their first terrarium. There are many different types of terrariums to choose from, as well as a huge number of plants, terrains and special objects to fill them with.
Players must collect seeds from their garden to try and breed new plants or simply sell them in the store to unlock more items. Random encounters such as animals and the elements can affects the game in surprising ways. Once you have completed your terrarium it is placed on a shelf where you can view your collection whenever you choose.
